I'm really happy with the new set of BT pickups. Great tone and almost noiseless. Don't get me wrong, because there's no such thing as "noiseless"; unless we are talking about active pickups. When looking for a real P90 tone, hum and noise are part of the deal. This new set removed the annoying hum, and what's left of noise is manageable with a good noise gate.
Definitively not going to miss the original Gibson pickups of my Les Paul Special.
Important to mention that David deserves 5 stars when it comes to customers service.

I love the aggressive bite of P90s however I play a lot of high gain, specifically stoner/doom rock. The noise and hum from standard P90s made them almost unusable for that style of music.
So I did a lot of research and stumbled upon a YouTube short for Brickhouse noiseless P90s. I took a chance and purchased a pair and I’m so happy that I did. They sound fantastic! Loud, powerful, aggressive with all the bite but none of the noise.
I highly recommend the Brickhouse noiseless P90s for anyone that wants that signature soap bar pickup tone without any of the unwanted noise.

I've been playing for 60 years and I've always loved the sound of a good P90. Unfortunately, they just have that inherent hum. While on the web one day, I ran into a post on a forum about David Shepherd and his BrickHouse pickups. I contacted David about his BH90S Pickups and he gave me some great info. I ordered a set for My Gibson CS 1960 Special DC and he got them shipped out in a couple of days. When they arrived, I installed them in the guitar and proceeded to test them out. I was absolutely FLABBERGASTED with the sound of these pickups. All the sound and tone of the OEM's but NO NOISE! Actually, the BH90's are louder and they do spec out higher than the A5 stock Gibson's. These pickups will allow me to use my much lighter Special more because as an old guy, 9 pound Les Paul's really beat you up on gigs. If you are looking for the should and tone of a P90 WITHOUT that dreaded hum, Try a set of Dave's BH90S pickups. You won't be disappointed !!!

I recently purchased the BH 90 for a Junior LP project. What a blessing! After pouring through weeks of video’s, reviews, and reaching out to various Tech’s it became clear that the BH 90 was the go to pickup for my application. All the vintage look and legendary tone without the oppressive hum that presents issues in the studio. Swift shipping, helpful customer service, and a thoughtful personal note from the owner. ordered a prewired 63 Neck & middle with spellbound bridge. response to email and questions was very fast - within hours. Quality of prewiring and the pick ups are best in class for me. all 5 positions are distinct and tonally better than anything I have had. Been playing 40 years and tried them all and finally found "the set". Now I can move on the my tele & gold top les paul.

This is the set that ended my search. Installed in a ‘61 SG - this set gives me everything I’m looking for.
Neck: No mud! From gorgeous jazz cleans to “Woman” tone to Gary Moore, this is the perfect PAF neck. Bridge: Never thin. This gets really close to Kossoff imo. It has that perfectly sharp attack and bite even at lower gain settings. It blooms and sustains as long as you want it too. This set is very sensitive to vol/tone settings, allowing you to dial in your pedals and amp and just adjust your guitar knobs for any tone you need. I played them for a week and then installed the Brickhouse harness - this is a must-do upgrade as well. Great improvement over the Gibson USA harness - more clarity and more dynamic. Oh and David’s customer service is second to none.

Got these pickups installed on my 2015 Gibson Non-Reverse Firebird reissue to try to keep the p90 sound with less noise and I couldn’t be happier. Great tone, bite, and they maintain that full p90 range and the noise has been mitigated. These are extremely well made pickups!

I recently acquired a budget priced single P90 guitar from a friend for use at our church. It sounded really good as it was, but having recently installed a set of the Brickhouse Toneworks Mason Deluxe PAF’s in my Gibson LP Studio, I was really curious as to what their noiseless P90 would sound like, plus a noiseless pickup would be useful in a church setting. I had pretty high expectations, but this thing even exceeded them! I used CTS 500k pots, a .033uF orange drop cap, and a treble bleed. I know a .022uF is recommended, but since it’s a single pickup guitar and the pickup is in the bridge position, I thought a .033 might be better, and it is. You can roll down the volume to clean it up while maintaining the treble, and you can roll down the tone to warm it up and get a middle position sound and a neck pickup sound, depending on how much treble you roll off. It’s very versatile and sounds amazing.

I have a guitar that had a very nice set of PAF-style pickups in it, but as nice as they were, they just didn’t resonate with me. I was looking for more clarity in the neck and a bit more bloom in the bridge. These Mason DLX’s really fit the bill. Very happy with them and will probably look at other Brickhouse sets for other projects!

I put this wiring harness with pickups in my American Original 60’s Strat. Fantastic sounding pickups! Extremely responsive with a distinct vintage voice. I opted for the baseplate on the bridge pickup and now I actually use it! It gives it a tele-esque growl. Just great experience all around. Shout out to Dave too, exemplary customer service. You can’t go wrong with Brickhouse Toneworks!

I replaced my harness in my Gibson R8 and wow. An immediate difference! Clearer, snappier, more responsive, and best of all a more usable range for the volume pots. Made a great guitar even better and dropping it in was a breeze.

I have a very bright 335, that I’ve struggled with.

These are the fourth pair of pickups that I’ve tried, and finally it sounds great! Very musical pickups. No mud, no harshness!

This pickup has bite when you need it and kills the hum when you don’t! Best sounding P90 around.

I had David’s PAF’s and wiring harness installed and I can’t believe what a difference it made in my R9 Les Paul. I didn’t know what I missing but wow, it’s an incredible guitar now!

For years I have been searching for the fattest single could sound I could find. This will be the neck pickup in every guitar I build out from this point on. I’m planning an HSH strat just to get the fattest BH90 build I can imagine. Thank you so much David!
